A €900 DIY 5 kWh power station for Ukraine

3 oktober 2026

At Eyes on Ukraine, we are constantly looking for ways to deliver better equipment at a lower cost. By developing and testing our own solutions, we can provide Ukraine with reliable equipment while making the most effective use of every euro donated.

Recently, we developed this 5 kWh power station based on a hybrid inverter connected to a LiFePO4 battery. The system combines high charging and discharging power with a large solar input capacity. The total cost of the system is approximately €900. That is roughly half the cost of a comparable Pecron system and around one-third the cost of a comparable EcoFlow system.

We have currently purchased enough components to build 30 of these power stations. Most of the assembly work will be carried out by our partner Florida Man in Ukraine.

Everything we learned while developing and building this power station has been documented in this guide. We encourage others to build power stations as well and supply them to Ukraine.

Winter is coming.
