Developing a 5 kWh power station for €900

At Eyes on Ukraine, we are constantly innovating. We follow the latest technological developments and adapt them to what is actually needed in Ukraine. Practical use in the field and getting maximum value from every donated euro are always our priorities.

Right now, we are developing a 5 kWh power station with a cost of around €900. We will share the complete system later, but today we cleared the final technical hurdles.

The system uses a Humsienk 51.2V 100Ah server rack battery connected to a Datou Boss 6200W hybrid inverter. During this test, the Humsienk battery charged from the grid at 2,600 watts / 50A. An excellent result, especially when fast charging is essential.

Previously, we tested the Datou Boss / MFUZOP 51.2V 100Ah server rack battery, which can also be seen in the video. This battery limits the charging current depending on its state of charge. We measured only 25A at a lower state of charge, dropping to just 10A as the battery became fuller.

For our applications, that is simply too slow. When electricity is available only for a limited time, or when charging from solar panels or a generator, we want to put as much energy into the battery as quickly as possible.
