Why is Eyes on Ukraine such a big supporter of connecting universal 5kWh batteries to power stations?

Modern power stations are incredibly versatile. They offer fast charging, high discharge rates, AC output, powerful USB-C ports, solar charging, and much more. But there’s one common limitation: capacity.

Most brands offer expansion batteries, but these are often expensive and still provide relatively limited storage.

That’s where universal 5kWh batteries make a huge difference.

With a cost of only €110–€150 per kWh, they are a far more cost-effective solution. But there’s another major advantage that matters even more in Ukraine: reliability in the field.
Power stations suffer from fatal electronic or mechanical failures under harsh wartime conditions. When that happens, a brand-specific battery often becomes useless. A universal battery, however, can simply be connected to another power station brand or even a solar inverter system.

There are downsides too. Because the power station cannot communicate with the external battery, the remaining battery percentage shown on the display is inaccurate.
